Call for life!
The BGS Association "For People" continues the "Call for Life" campaign.
In July, the BGS Association "Pentru Oameni" gave the chance for a normal life to Gabriela Achim, diagnosed with serious spine problems. We donated the amount of 21,000 euros necessary for the operation and treatments that Gabriela needed in order to lead a normal life like any 14-year-old child.
The "Call for a Life" campaign does not stop, we will continue to search and help, together with you, for those whose life has not always smiled.

The BGS Association "For People" continues the "Call for Life" campaign.
We make the second call within the campaign for the Cocea twins, Darius and Daria:
Daria - spastic diplegia, strong myopia. Spastic diplegia is a paralysis of the lower limbs, a muscular hypertonia. Her muscles are constantly strained, which makes normal and easy movements for a man, such as walking, sitting, lifting, to be a fight against her own body.
Darius - flaccid paraplegia of unknown etiology. He has developed only about 15% of his leg muscles, a fact that makes it impossible for him to stand upright (standing) without that special orthosis that supports what his muscles cannot.
The BGS association "Pentru Oameni" helps Daria and Darius with the amount of 10,000 euros. Travel costs for treatments and interventions in the following period will exceed 40,000 euros. To all this are added the costs of daily therapies, which I do at home. Those who want to help Daria and Darius can donate to the following accounts:

Call for a life!
In December 2021, the BGS Association "Pentru Oameni" initiated the "Call for a Life" campaign.
The first call within the campaign was made for Achim Andrei Ciodar for one year and eleven months who has been struggling with:
- Severe cerebral palsy;
- Tetraventricular post-hemorrhagic hydrocephalus;
- Epileptic encephalopathy;
- Bilateral optic nerve atrophy;
- Severe neuro-psycho-motor retardation;
The BGS association "Pentru Oameni" supported Achim with the sum of 10,000 euros. His diagnoses required 5 interventions at the ZAGIED MED hospital in Lublin, Poland, the total cost of the interventions being 75,000 lei. For the necessary treatment and therapies in Romania, he needs approximately 90,000 lei annually.

Blood donation
On a daily basis, thousands of patients in the Romanian hospitals need blood transfusions in order to survive. BGS Association, along with the volunteers and all the members of BGS Group, contribute on an annual basis, by the donation campaigns conducted, “Intinde o mana de ajutor” (Stretch out a helping hand) in order to help the lives who depend on blood transfusions.
Starting from 2004, with the help of volunteers, we managed to organize over 20 donation campaigns and to bring over 5000 donors to this cause.
Humanitarian aid
For us, Santa Claus is dressed in blue... In the past 10 years, every year, BGS caravan left loaded with bags of food, clothing and toys in order to help the isolated families from the villages of Buzau county to have happy and warm winter holidays.
Annually, hundreds of such packages are delivered by BGS volunteers to the people who only dream of the holidays. Approximately 800 souls are helped on every holiday to have a merry Christmas.
Regardless of the weather conditions, the BGS team of volunteers starts loaded and prepared to go to the doors of the less fortunate families.
Life without violence
In Romania, it is more shameful to be a victim than an aggressor …every 30 seconds, a woman is beaten; every 2 days, a woman dies because of domestic violence…
We encourage the victims of domestic violence to talk, to fight and to hope for a better life, a normal life, without violence!
In 2014, BGS started the campaign “Viata fara violenta” (Life without violence), by which we offer abused women monitoring and intervention services free of charge.
In order to benefit from monitoring and intervention free of charge, the victim has to prove the abuse by the following documents:
- copy of identity card;
- medical-forensic certificate – if the victim cannot pay the cost for the issuance of such certificate, the cost shall be settled by AVON – telephone call at *2866 (free of charge) or e-mail at contact@avoncampaniisociale.ro;
- proof of registration of the complaint with the Police, revealing the object of the complaint and identity of the parties;
- Certificate from the Landlords’ Association revealing that the person against whom the criminal complaint was filed does not live at the address corresponding to the facility monitored by BGS (such certificate shall be renewed every 3 years);
- Copy of the ownership title or lease / commodatum contract revealing that the person whose life, physical or mental integrity or freedom is endangered by an act of violence and the aggressor do not hold in join ownership/use the immovable asset corresponding to the facility monitored by BGS;
- Proof (Protection order according to Art. 23 of Law no. 217/2003, as republished) revealing that the aggressor’s access to the dwelling is restricted or limited;
- If the potential client does not live in a block of flats, a statement on own responsibility that the person against whom the complaint was filed does not live at the address corresponding to the facility monitored by BGS, and this statement shall be renewed every 3 months.
The monitoring and intervention services are available free of charge for a period of 12 months. The monitoring equipment is the property of BGS and is given to the client in custody.
